This cave has a bit of history. They say that sometime during the 17th century, Moro pirates attacked the island and the natives hid inside Luyang Cave. But the pirates learned of the hiding place. They stuffed the cave’s entrance with dried leaves and set it afire to suffocate those hiding inside it. To appease the souls of the victims, an altar was built inside the cave and a mass is said every April 28.
