Luyang Cave in Catanduanes

This cave has a bit of history. They say that sometime during the 17th century, Moro pirates attacked the island and the natives hid inside Luyang Cave. But the pirates learned of the hiding place. They stuffed the cave’s entrance with dried leaves and set it afire to suffocate those hiding inside it. To appease the souls of the victims, an altar was built inside the cave and a mass is said every April 28.

The Hidden Beauty of Catanduanes

Catanduanes vibrates with soul that permeates the seawater's within it, the green hills envelopes it as it feels secured and serene under the guardianship of its two sentinels the Viracnons called the TwinRock.
They don’t look like twins though’ with the inner rock much bigger than the outer one, anyone can imagine that they must have been born years apart.  Nature must have so designed them to stand majestically, even intimidatingly to preserve and protect the serenity of the place.
Try walking on its white sands and when in the middle of the semi-circular beach, observe and ravish the incessant call of the great Pacific.  It’s tireless waves breaking before reaching the portals of Igang’s cove and continue its rhythmic ripples to lap at the shores.  The waters come endlessly and leaves temporarily in a rhythm so poignantly expressive; so much like life itself; assuring all that as life must come and go, so must it complete a cycle.
And Igang must have had umpteenth cycles as its souls nourishes the fullness of her being.  Whatever modern ways and systems have been applied to it, however the imaginative masters have cosmetically rearranged her contours, build and construct indigenous habitat or concrete edifices on it, the resilient soul of Igang continues to blend with the fad and fashion of the times.
Barely fifteen lazy driving minutes from the heart of Virac, its mysteriously comforting calm and its safe refuge to visiting tourists, whether foreign or domestic, are warm assurances of a wholesome and relaxing experience.
Listen and i really mean listen to the song of its southeasterly wind.  When you shall have set your mind meet a new adventure, when you shall have mentally composed your own melody, then you must have discovered what serenity is all about. And serenity is the very soul of Igang’s TwinRock. Catanduanes has also a cave they called it Luyang Cave.

The Beauty of Nature

Mayon Volcano (Mount Mayon) is an active strato volcano found in Albay Bicol on the island of Luzon, Philippines. It has a perfect cone shape; It was named after a legendary folk Daragang magayon. It was among the 7 wonders of nature in the Philippines. It must be one of the most beautiful volcanic cones anywhere in the world and is visible for miles around in the otherwise flat landscape of the region. Mayon Volcano is the Philippines’ most active volcano and is considered to be the world’s most perfectly formed volcano for its symmetrical cone. It is a basaltic-andesitic volcano. The upper slopes of the volcano are steep averaging 35-40 degrees and are capped by a small summit crater.

Albay's neighboring province to the south, Sorsogon, is host to one of the highest concentration of Whale Sharks in the world. These creatures have been frequenting the waters off Donsol, Sorsogon for generations and in 1998, the Philippine Department of Tourism declared this area an official sanctuary for the Whale Shark, thus protected this fascinating species.

Philippine nature is always at it’s best! It is in this country where you found out how much to love the real nature, not the planted trees across in other countries.

Nature Lover!

Nature is that from which we all came from. With all the forests, volcanoes, animals, fish, and other elements, nature forms a tremendously large system, which exists independently on the planet. “Nature is beautiful, fun and lovely”. Every place has its own distinct features.
